Nutrition Services

As part of our efforts to provide high-quality, personalized care, Eminent Medical Center offers patients the opportunity to have meals at their own schedule during their hospital stay, with a hotel-style room service program. Our meals are prepared fresh, ensuring the best quality for our patients.  Menus are developed and adjusted to meet the special dietary needs of our patients. Patients can choose from an extensive menu, which features a wide range of seasonal options, such as customized omelets, made-to-order salads, savory pastas, as well as many other international choices provided by our NYC trained executive chef. The Eminent Medical Center Nutrition Service Program is available to patients from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily. Meals are delivered to the patient’s bedside within 45 minutes of placing the order. Visiting friends and family members may also order from the room service menu for a fee.   To view the Room Service menu, Click here

About The Chef:

New York native Chef Jason Gersten has a wide range of experience in the culinary arts.  Prior to Eminent Medical Center, Jason worked as the Executive Sous Chef at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC where one of his favorite roles was being responsible for patient services. That’s where he really honed in his talent for helping people feel better while at the hospital. Even when thousands of miles away and in another country, Jason cooks his patients something that reminds them of home, to help them feel more comforted while at the hospital.  Jason believes in the Power of Food, “If you use the best ingredients and treat them with respect throughout the whole cooking process, the person receiving the final product can feel the love put into it that dish, which helps nourish them on their road to recovery.” Prior to that, Jason worked as Executive Chef for Leman Manhattan preparatory school where he created an international boarding food service program, and even went to China to learn to make authentic Chinese food. Before working in hospitals and schools, Jason started his culinary career working at renowned New York City restaurants such as Union Square Café and Gramercy Tavern.  He graduated from the French Culinary Institute in New York and has a degree in Food and Nutrition.
